Need help finding a diagnosis?
What medical problems might affect cognitive function or processing speed in a young adult
-This person had above average intelligence level (Determined by an IQ test) before onset of problem
-Long term memory was affected but not short-term
-Person appears as if they are "zoned out"
-Person experiences intermittent vertigo
-Blurred vision
-Gets 8 hours of sleep a night
-Person is well hydrated
-No evidence of drugs or alcohol (Tests ruled these out)
-Multivitamin with iron is taken
-Fish oil is taken
-MRI taken 1.5 years before onset of cognitive decline showed only a small right frontal venous angioma. (MRI was done for reasons unrelated to this diagnosis)
duration of problems =1 month
age=early 20's

it affects the brain where an enzyme destorys the myelin and the person slowly looses motor skills and such...try checking that out...if anything just to rule it out
