Looking for a gastroenterologist. Any suggestions?
So, recently I won 1st place in the District Science Fair in my category, and need serious help. I want to ask a professional some questions on the Liver. My science project is basically the Effect of Solarcaine (which contains 0.5 % concentrated Lidocaine HCL and Aloe Vera) on a Bos primigenius taurus (domesticated calf) Liver. I need to know the relation between the substance and the tissue and/or chlorophyll's interaction with the human liver enzymes. Also the metabolism time for Lidocaine or general anesthetics. Thanks!
I can't help with the cow liver stuff, but can tell you about anesthetics.
The half-life of lidocaine in humans is 1.5-2 hours. Most inhaled general anesthetics are not metabolized much, but are excreted unchanged through the lungs. General anesthesia is a technique that can include any of dozens of drugs, so you'd have to be specific with the which drugs are being used.
Also, my experience is limited to humans. Never attempted bovine anesthesia.
I'm not sure any gastroenterologists would know much about calf liver, unless they do research using it.
