What is the truth behind worshipping of Idols & symbols?
Idols and signs are essential part of every religion
hindus have Murtis (not idols) of their gods
christian worship cross, jesus and mother Mary's photos
muslims bow before an uncut black stone
sikhs worship a book as guru
pagans worship symbols
What is the philosophy behind worshiping photos, murtis and stones and books for worshipping god ?

"An idol worshiper is one who think that God is everywhere and he calls in the God in his creation in the form of idol"
Though air is every where, even then we need fan for air.
Though fire is mingled in atmosphere. but we need wood to create it.
Though God is every where but we need ShriVigrah(Krishna's moorti) to worship him.
This is like setting a bulls-eye not for targetting but for meditating.

In scriputures, God asks us to worship him.
What strengthen our faith?
Ans:-The creation of God, Incarnation God and the saints and Faqirs who praised the God. They strengthen our faith in God. So there is no harm for a Muslim to go to Mazar and for Hindu to go to temple.
In the eyes Jesus's statue, there is a love.
On the face of Faqir and Saints, there is a divine power.
In the scultpure of my Krishna, there is a Bliss, eternal bliss.
Don't you think these things help us to be closer to God rather than reading the scriptures, sculputre are more useful for strengthen our faith.
Some religion says that wroshiping idol was not allowed in Vedas. They forget the verses where Indra was compared to the yellow colour beautiful wood idols.
Further they say that we should not love his creation, we should love the creator.
"But Hinduism says love the creation as well as creator but don't keep infatuation on his creation."
Pure love of every kind is approved every where. Wether you love plants, animals or any thing of this nature from the core of your heart. It means you are worshiping the creator himself.
What will be the better worship of a creator than loving and admiring his creation.
I want to ask a question of these religions.
tell me one thing.
when a person loves his wife from the core of his heart, doesn't he become an idolator? An idolator who is worshiping an alive idol........lol
Does it mean his love is fake because he is worshiping a Sambhooti, a thing from nature.
No his love is as eternal as his love to God.
