Is having head surgery a DQ for the Air Force?
When my fiance was 13 years old (he's now 20), he had head surgery. He had an infection, and they went into his head to cut it out. he has a nickel-size titanium plate inside, with no screws. He has never had any problems out of it. He's been able to play high school football, and been on a MMA team. Would this make him be DQ'd? & if so, is there some type of waiver he could sign to state he wouldn't file a law suit, if something did happen? He is VERY serious about this.
SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY.
1)This would require a Medical Waiver.
2) all Medical waivers are reviewed on a case by case basis and as such there is no one, not even a recruiter, who can tell you if it will pass(though if they think that it won't do not expect them to do the paperwork).
3) The Air Force is not currently recruiting anyone who would require a waiver of any kind.(I expect this could last for several years due to the AF recruiting backlog.)
