Is Splenda a healthier alternative than sugar or honey, especially for recipes?
I have heard about Splenda is an artifical sweetner for sugar. I never tried Splenda before. I thought about buying Splenda, and trying it in recipes. I am wondering, is Splenda actually a healthier alternative than these natural sweetners? Anyone who has used Splenda, could you share your thoughts about it? Thanks!
Okay, maybe the thought of using Splenda, wasn't a great idea, lol . .if its not going to be good for our bodies to consume. I don't want that!
No, I don't have diabetes. I just pefer to eat healthy. I dont eat sweets often (because I don't want health risks later in life), but I enjoy making quick breads, some cakes and cookies, for my family. I just wanted to know if there was a healtheir and safter alternative for sugar/honey. So far, none. I'll just stick to the natural stuff (using more honey and less sugar), and just make the habit of making these sweet foods every once in awhile. Thanks for all the advice!
No, it is not healthier for you. It is a chemical compound made to taste like sugar. Sugar is a natural product. If you are wanting to use less sugar without effecting the taste of an item, try using Stevia. It is a natural product and can be found in most health food stores. It is powerfully sweet so much less is needed than with cane sugar.
