How much valerian root powder should I consume?
I have 25 grams. How much should I take? How should I take it?
It's for insomnia.
How much you should take would depend on...
1) How potent is the herb. If it is old, or has been exposed to high heat, humidity, sunlight, it will not be as potent
2) How much your body needs to achieve the results you want. I gram may be enough for 1 person, while another person might need 5 or more grams
Prepare it as you would a tea, by placing the root in a cup, pouring boiling water over it, and letting it infuse for 20-30 minutes. Some people boil roots, but Valerian root should not be boiled or else the volatile oils will dissipate. Start with 1 gram per cup of water, then gradually increase the dosage until you find what works for you.
