What is the safest, healthiest, most holistic cleansing program for someone just diagnosed with mild diabetes?
Sherry , there is no such thing as Mild Diabetes. That's the dangerous part in the art of Denial.
As for cleansing, as for everyone , a nice hot bath or shower will do the job. (smile)
A possibility for you may occur if you eat and exercise properly, To avoid medicines.I will give you a head start in you regimen to control glucose levels. It really works. No Voodoo, no magic, just hard work keyed with knowledge is the way to success.
There are 4 key steps to controlling glucose levels.
Here are the 4 keys:

2) Meds. Metformin to start. Never , ever take Actos or Avandia. They may kill you. Bone fractures, heart problems and what diabetics really don't need is that they change Bone Stem Cells to Fat Cells.
3)diet- A low carb diet is in order. I can't count carbs so I use Mendosa's Glycemic Index Diet. Great for the whole family. http://www.mendosa.com/gilists.htm
4) EXERCISE- Walking is fine but Nordic Walking is Great. Exercise also lowers Glucose levels , lowers Cholesterol and lowers Blood Pressure. Google it.
That's all there is to it. A trip to the doctor every 3 months. for life. If you really adhere to this you can even stop checking at home your glucose levels. But give it six months to see if you stablize.
I only have my glucose level checked every three months at the doctors . So many say test, test , test. My slant on this is only test if you need to do something about your glucose levels.
Also try before meals 2 or 3 tablespoon of lime or lemon or vinegar. Can dilute with water. Vinegar on salads is a great way. I'll let you research this on your way to gain Knowledge.
