Why do sheep eat their placenta?
It is to keep preditors away or for nutrition?
Some humans do, too. Rather than taking drugs after childbirth midwives used to make "pink milkshakes" from pieces of the placenta for the mother. The natural oxytocin in the placenta material helps the uterus to contract back to its normal size after childbirth.
Perhaps sheep know that naturally?
