birth control and sex drive problems!!?
Ok so i've been on birth control for the past 4 years and i have been dating this WONDERFULguy for the past 3....The thing is i have zero sex drive. I don't want to be touched and sometimes i don't even want to makeout!
I think this is wrecking our relationship as he thinks that i'm not attracted to him but i really am!! he's gorgeous!! and the sweetest person ever i don't know what i'd do without him...
so basically, i need to know of some alternatives to get my sex drive back up to where it used to be! i've switched birth control about 5 times and still to no avail!
is there a female sex drive enhancer? Anything will help...
Going off birthcontrol isn't an option for me as i'm going back to school and I can't take that chance!

Recent published research notes that 40 percent of women experience reduced sex drive while taking the birth control Pill. Why?
A key component in female sexual desire is testosterone, a hormone many think of as being “male.” But women have it too, and every month when ovulation occurs, their ovaries actually make excess testosterone.
Biologically, that’s because women are fertile when they’re ovulating, and the body secretes testosterone to encourage reproductive behavior!
But, women taking hormonal contraceptives don’t have active ovaries, so the testosterone normally made there—50 percent of the body’s production—isn’t secreted.
A woman’s adrenal glands make the other half of her testosterone, and they, too, are affected by the Pill. That's because the Pill doesn’t just reduce testosterone production—it also encourages the liver to make a protein called SHGB, which hiders its effect.
So, to improve your sex life your best bet is to explore other kinds of birth control - condoms, diaphragms, etc. But if you';re dead set on sticking with the pill, at least ask your doctor to recommend a pill that will have the least effect on your testosterone.
