I can renew the passport of my child?
I have primary residential custody of my child, but a shared responsibility of parents. I sent my son on vacation with his mother in Venezuela during the summer. Ex Wife I never sent him back and his passport expired while there on vacation, had been 2 yrs since he has been home. Question I was I could go to the embassy in Venezuela and renew his passport expired is that we have joint custody of their parents, but I have a prime residential custody of my son.
Next time you send your child overseas, make sure you get it in writing when he had to go back and have the court sign too! I think you should go to Venezuela on the U.S. embassy there with your ex since you have joint custody, it dont matter if you have primary custody, still need both parents to appear in person unless your ex is wiling to sign a form to "If the other parent can not appear "..
