Organic Honey Powder for my hermit crab's bedding?
Hi everyone. I have gotten a hermit crab yesterday and I was wondering if I could use Organic Honey Powder for my crab's bedding instead of sand. Will it harm the crab or will the crab like it? they need actual substrate. so that is sand, or what i like to do is use a combo of sand (play sand is great, you want the semi moist kind, almost the consistency you'd use to make a castle, not wet, but slightly moist.), and coconut husk fiber. they need and like to burrow in it, especially when molting, or to regulate their body temperature. the crab, however, will love it as a treat. give it some and it will munch. it may not look like much is gone, they eat very little, but they're eating it.
i noticed you said craB. you should definitely get another couple. they get lonely, and naturally live and thrive in groups. contrary to their name, they're very social creatures.
shopping online, I'm looking for a good site right now (never shopped online, never plan on it). but shells, you can't really buy online. try the place you got your crab from. they need certain sizes that can't really be determined from online.
