I am a landlord. is it the tenant's responsibility to remove snow from the deck so not too much weight on it?
Hi, is it his responsibility? the deck is part of the unit he is renting. Also, regardless of whose responsibility it is what should be the critaria to removing snow from the deck in order to avoid damage to the deck? i.e. 20cm snow, 40cm?? By the way it's a 4-plex in Canada. THANKS.

You need to have a clause in the lease that requires the tenant to do this. If you don't, it's your responsibility. You should be able to update the lease when it is renewed, or obviously if someone else moves in. Unless there is some Canadian law or ordinance I don't know about, until the lease states this requirement, they don't have to do anything.
I would think at least 40cm would be fine, but I suppose it would depend on the exact deck. Maybe you should hire someone to evaluate a safe limit.
