Blister on hand...HELP!!?

Hey, went rowing and got lots of blisters on my hands :( some of them burst during the session. I've got a blister on my finger that looks infected.
Its red, swolled and had watery yellow pus. I broke it with a sterilised needle, to try and relieve some of the pressure. put anticeptic cream on it and a plaster.
Will this be enough? or will i have to go see a doctor?
:S
Firstly I am not a wimp. I been rowing for about 6 six years and have had probably hundreds of blisters. I know perfectly well about the healing processes of normal blisters. However I have never had a blister which has caused my finger to swell, turn bright red and seep pus.

if the puss is yellow i suggest seeing a doctor. yellow puss is an indicator of infection. infection in the blood can lead to very serious problems that you would rather avoid. blister should not be intentionally broken either. this leaves an open wound that could cause you to get an infection. hydrogen peroxide is your friend and you should use it generously befor you go and see a doctor.
