Should performance enhancing drugs be legalized for pro sports?
The cars we drive have benefited from performance-enhancing innovations from Formula One racing. Could not some performance-enhancing programs possibly benefit people with disabilities and the elderly?
Faster, higher, stronger--isn't that what it's all about? If athletes are willing to take the risk, why not let them? Without risk, we wouldn't have a space program.
What bothers me is that when I watch pro sports and the Olympics, I am convinced that the best cheaters win. Carl Lewis, Flo-Jo, & countless pro teams win by using steroids, uppers, etc. I once heard that the Eagles went to a doctor and got their urine replaced with clean urine with a catheter.
That's another reason to legalize it--so we level the playing field & can keep an eye on it.
If they are pro, why not? let them ruin themselves for our pleasure.
