Why do dock leaves work against nettle stings?
Do they just work againt nettle stings? and why do they grow near each otehr usually? I just stung myself for the first time in about nine years (I'm finally wroking on my new garden lol) and forgot how painfull it can be!!! Ooooowwwww!!!
It is possible to pick nettle leaves and not get stung, if you brush the leaf area in on direction such as up the stem and from stem to leaf tip you will get stung, but if you go from leaf tip to stem and down the stem you don't get stung.
Nettles like to grow in nitrogen rich soil and so do dock's, the nettles grow in the top 3 or 4 inches where all the nutrients are, most of the nutrients are brought to the surface by the dock's that have a long tap root
