Vince Gironda says to not wrap your thumb around the bar when you neck press: is this dangerous?
He calls it a palm grip. I've always heard it called a suicide grip, as nothing holds the bar in your palm. Is the palm grip he espouses the same as a suicide grip? I guess in a power rack it's okay, but on a smith machine you'd have to sacrifice your range of motion for safety. If your forearm is that involved, you could just use more weight and use a standard grip, I guess.
I'm trying to figure out exactly what all this has to do with Men's Health.
