Can you guys answer these questions for me?
Hey,
I am doing a project on good and evil, based off of interviewing others and studying the Book of Job. This is for Theology class, so if you guys could answer these questions that'd be very helpful! Thanks so much!
1) What is your opinion on what good and evil are--it's very relative, of course, so share your view!
2) Do you believe in absolute good and/or absolute evil? Why or why not?
3) Do you believe that evil exists in nature, or only humans?
4) What are your views based on (religious background, etc.)

1) What is your opinion on what good and evil are--it's very relative, of course, so share your view!
I thin people are basically good but that all people have the capacity for good or evil. Environment has a lot to do with this.
For example Many otherwise good people get their Christianity convoluted in such a way that they come to believe torture is OK and that persecuting gay people or people of other faiths or no faith is OK.
2) Do you believe in absolute good and/or absolute evil? Why or why not?
I think there are instances of both: Mother Theresa (good) Hitler (evil), but most people do some of both and some do evil under the guise of good. But circumstances can lead people to do some evil or good things and most people are not absolutely either.
3) Do you believe that evil exists in nature, or only humans?
That is a tough one. When we see merciless things in the animal kingdom, we call it instinct or survival but not with humans because we can learn and think on a deeper level. Probably on that basis, only with humans
4) What are your views based on (religious background, etc.)
On my belief that we are to do good things and try to overcome our desires to do bad things. We all fall short. I do not accept the concept of original sin, thus I think people are inherently (for the most part) good.
