When taking a sublingual vitamin or drug, do any of the "other ingredients" get absorbed too?
besides any sugars or flavorings, what about the binders or preservatives? Are these "other ingredients" safe if they are absorbed, and how efficient is sublingual administration of vitamins anyway, especially of vitamin B12? Example B12 sublingual lozenges "other ingredients": "Fructose, Mannitol, Cellulose, Stearic Acid, Magnesium Stearate, Silica, Natural Cherry Flavor, Raspberry Flavor"
It's not necessary. Sublingual tablets need to 1) disintegrate under the tongue and 2) the active ingredient must be absorbed in that setting. Notice i didn't say all the ingredients must be absorbed.
