What happens if you forget to rinse 15 minutes after using liquid plumber gel?
I used liquid plumber gel in my shower this morning. The bottle said to let it work for 15 minutes and then rinse. I forgot about it and went to class. I just got back (about 9 hours later) and realized my mistake and rinsed. The liquid plumber seems to have removed whatever was slowing my drain, but did leaving it in there for so long damage the pipes or anything?
If it happened only this once, it'll be ok. It's just not something you'd want to forget to do too often. Once a month, lift the drain cover off the shower floor. Pour about a 1/4 cup of baking soda in there and then a cup of vinegar on top of it. It will foam and fizzle, but, it's a home made way to keep your drains flowing freely. Do this at night and don't run water in the shower till you shower in the morning. But, seriously, the Liquid Plumber won't hurt this one time.
