Classical music boffins please help me!?

Hehe =P

Tomorow i'm joint-running an imagination workshop for kids aged 3-12.
Were baseing our warm up on 'The Magic Faraway Tree' by Enid Blyton and we need 2 peices of classical/instrumental music which are quite short.

The first part is going through the forest, pretending to jump over ditches, jump in leaves and swim through rivers ect.
This music needs to be fast and exciting!

The second part is climbing up the magic tree which keeps changing what it's growing (acorns to apples to peaches to telephones to tree fairies!) so this piece needs to be slow (maybe in incalzando) but exciting!

Overall it needs to sound foresty!
Any ideas?

Overall, you'll probably be looking for music from the Romantic era. Some pieces that come to mind with your description:

(Most of these are long pieces, you would have to choose an excerpt)
First part:
-Butterworth's "The Banks of Green Willow"
-Beethoven's 6th symphony
-The 2nd movement of Tchaikovsky's "Manfred" symphony (probably a little deep/dark for the intended audience)
-Dvorak's "The Water Goblin"
-*Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker Suite", Dance of the Mirlitons / Reed Flutes

Part Two:
-*Saint-Saens "The Aquarium" from "Carnival of the Animals (although it isn't necessarily "foresty", it's very mystical-sounding)

The ones that I starred (*) I suggest you use. They're both less than a 2 minutes long, and the fit they descriptions nicely. The others I suggested would require cutting and are a little more complicated.
