Is it bad to watch a movie before you sleep if you have insomnia?
For a a month I have had so many problems trying to sleep. I tried to find ways to help but they all said take sleeping pills witch I cant. Some say listen to music or eat little. Is it good or bad to watch a calm movie before you sleep?
Many years ago, I, too, suffered from insomnia. I tried sleeping pills and didn't like the results. While you are awake, you need to do something where you can al least rest your body, so watching movies from my recliner was one of the things I chose. Sadly, even the most boring of movies didn't put me to sleep. Frankly, I found reading novels in my recliner to be a better choice, and often, I would drift off for a short while, usually incorporating the plot from the novel into my dreams. I think key to getting some sleep was actually the recliner rather than the choice of mental activity. I read somewhere once that sleeping in a propped-up position is easier for some people than in a flat bed.
A movie would only be bad if it kept you from sleeping. Since you aren't sleeping anyway, it can't hurt. (Have you tried strenuous exercise an hour before you wish to go to bed?) (Or maybe some turkey with a glass of skim milk.)
