Any tips on getting an average earlobe piercing? Is it safe to put a pain relief gel on before you get it done?
I've had my ears pierced previously on the lobe with a piercing gun. I'm pretty sensitive to pain, so I'm wondering 4 things:
1. I've heard that at certain times, your pain threshold is highest--is this true, and when?
2. Can you put on a topical pain relief gel (like biofreeze) on it before you pierce? It numbs the area slightly.
3. Does taking pain medication before help?
4. Ideas on how to remain still while having the piercer held up to your ear?
Any advice helps. I've been thinking of getting this done for a while, but have been holding it off.
1. I don't know, I have a high pain tolerance - sorry.
2. I don't think it's a good idea, because if your ears actually go numb, you wouldn't know..
3. You shouldn't have anything like that in your system unless it's needed.
4. Talk, have friends with you, listen to music (no head/ear phones.. they get in the way), etc
