What spices are you supposed to put on homemade garlic bread?
The garlic breads at the store are so unhealthy; I thought I'd make my own with whole wheat bread at home. I plan to put some calorie free butter spray and garlic salt on the toasted bread, but I know there's a spice you can sprinkle on there too, and I don't know what it is! Is it parsley? Or oregano? Or just "italian seasoning" (which I guess is a mixture of lots of seasonings?)? Help!
I sprinkle a little paprika, dried parsley, garlic powder and Kosher salt on my homemade garlic bread.
BTW, you can use olive oil instead of butter -- brush it very lightly on your toasted bread, then rub a clove of garlic on top, very tasty, lower in calories and so good for you.
