Series 6 & 63 license about to expire and not working for a financial firm now, how can I sotp it from exp.?
I have series 6 & 63 license and it is going to expire this Nov. if i am working for a non-financial firm. Is there anyway to keep it active because i am unable to change job at this moment and don't want 2 grands to go down the drain with it.
You can't. The only way to keep them active is to be employed by a firm in the finance industry(ie, Fidelity, Vanguard, Edward Jones) that can "sponsor" you before they expire. There is no other way to keep them active.
Once they expire, and you decide to re-enter the financial industry, you will be required to retake the tests.
I had my Series 7 and series 63, both expired earlier this year because I left AGEdwards and re-entered the IT Industry. If I want to go back to being a broker, I'll have to retake the exams.
