If you are laid off, lose the required Health and Welfare Coverage, WIC or Medicaid ...?
If you lose your job, and thus later lose your health insurance, and unemployed long enough to deplete your savings, whether you are too proud to accept government assistance to feed your kids and provide them with the State Health Insurance? I've noticed that many questions in Y! A seems to be biased against Welfare recipients and I just do not think it's fair to project those kinds of prejudices against fellow Americans only because they are going through difficult times? Plus, the dynamics of the average welfare family drastically changed for the include families that previously made up of 60K-100K. Prejudiced people are trying to make families feel ashamed of their situation and unfair. What do you think?
I do not think this really answered your question, but I want to comment on this. I has a well-paying position with the WIC program. Working with clients every day, I used to get annoyed SOME of them have the mentality, and annoyed me even more when I feel people abuse the system and get the benefit when I feel they do not deserve it. I think "GET A JOB" when speaking with so many of my clients ... Then one day it just hit me: If we have a decrease in clients, WIC staff start getting laid off. This is the same for each grant program funded assisstance. Think about how many hundreds of thousands of jobs were created because people are in assisstance. Medicaid, WIC, Food Stamps, assisstance Heating, assisstance Daycare, Welfare, etc. It takes a lot of people in almost every city in the U.S. to run the program. People are more assisstance, more work available for others. So, if people out there are qualified, do not be proud - to apply and get what help you can. Because people who do that, I, along with so many other people, having a job!
