Parasites and the Master Cleanse?
I have had tape worm in the past, the doctor gave me pills and i think its gone now but really the doctor didnt seem to know much about tapeworm and i couldnt seem to find much info about it anywhere even on the internet.
Im thinking of doing a detox, probably the master cleanse (i have done this once in the past) but i guess my question is if i do still have tapeworm or tapeworm eggs in me would the cleanse be helpful on riding these or could they live off the juice? (master cleanse is a detox involving pure lemon juice, cayanne pepper, and pure maple syrup).
I dont see why its an obvouse hoax....they dont even try to sell u anything.
You get your basic ingredients from ur local health food store or even Jewel or whatever so...its not like the inventor of the diet gets any money out of you!

Tapeworms (and parasites in general) are not simple to kill. This is partially because as "higher organisms" they're a lot more like you than simple bacteria. That means the drugs (herbal or otherwise) are really hard on your body and have a high degree of toxicity and a narrow therapeutic range. Therefore, you have to choose the right med (herbal or otherwise) matched with the right organism... and dose/apply it properly.
Generally, treating parasites is not the domain of the layperson. And tapeworms are particularly challenging because they're segmented worms, so if any single segment breaks off and/or isn't killed and expelled it can generate a whole new worm.
The "master cleanse" will NOT kill parasites. It actually may make them worse, because the sugar from the maple syrup is like ambrosia to most parasites! And furthermore, if you have a tapeworm you're already deprived of nutrients (cuz the worm gets first pick of everything you're absorbing... and worms are hungry!) So doing the master cleanse, where the nutrients you're taking in are severely limited, is ill advised.
If you dont want to go back to the doctor who made the initial diagnosis and provided treatment, I would advise you to seek out ANOTHER doc to help you treat the problem. Could be a qualified ND, if you like, because yes there are herbal anti-parasitic treatments. But you really do need some professional guidance.
