My dad may need his foot amputated due to diabetes....?
My dad has diabetes and has had a serious wound/infection on his foot for 2 months now. The infection has gone into the bone. The antibiotics are not helping, the doctor said he needs to try Hyper Barrick treatment. My wife and I live 12 hours away and are really at a loss for what to do to help. I am thinking about buying him a Chi machine or Jigglin George machine. Should I buy one I heard it could be a snake oil type product. Is that true, do you know anyone that used them to help with diabetes, especially bad circulation in their feet? Should I buy him a Chi machine?
Your father already has an infection. It is too late to try increasing the circulation.
if your father has any hope of saving his leg, then the foot will have to be amputated. Hyperbarric treatment is a last resort, and seldom works in severe cases like this.
in any case DO NOT waste your money on these silly machines. the cure for your father's problem is proper control of his disease. Spend you money on a Blood Glucose test meter, and make sure that you father tests his blood sugar at least 4 times a day. Spend you TIME making sure that your father eats a proper diet, eliminates sugar from his diet, reduced starches, and gets more fibers. this may help to save the other leg!
