? about Omega 3. Each capsule has 400EPA/200DHA/Fatty Acids 630mg/Fish Oil Concentrate (anchovy,sardine) 1065?
mg. Is this is good amount for a healthy body such as for treating depression?
Also, what is the F.O. Concentrate (anchovy, sardine) 1065mg.? I am a healthy grown adult who heard taking Fish Oil is good for you & this is what my health food store suggested....but wanted to ask someone who might have exp. w/Fish Oil. Thank you.
In clinical trials, they have used a number of doses...(because the aim was to determine the most effective dose) - and the conclusion was that 1,000 mgs of EPA (I'll explain below) was most effective, and that doses higher than that provided no additional effect.
The EPA appears to be the one fat of the two in fish oil that effects depression (how do they know, for clinical trials they seperate them, when they are seperated, the Eicosapentaenoic acid is reduced to Ethyl-Eicosapentaenoate) - and you want to take roughly 1,000 mgs of EPA - or 2 to 3 of the capsules you have now.
You can find the results in google scholar (google that if you haven't used it) and search for eicosapenaenoic acid, or ethyl eicosapentaenoate AND depression. {because its been used in a bunch of other studies, and you'll get gobs of results otherwise) and do the same with PUBMED (google that)
