Borage Oil

Anyone here suffer from or live with someone with PMDD?

I'm curious...I deal with it and am looking for alternatives to antidepressants for dealing with it. I have even resorted to taking Seasonale so that I only have periods 4 times a year to avoid the symptoms but they cause so much spotting that I'd rather avoid them all together. I read online about Borage Oil and have some capsules that I've taken once. Just curious to see how anyone else copes or hear alternatives. Thanks!

I suffer from this debilitating disorder. Sorry to say but I have finally just resorted to strong prescription pain pills, antidepressants and anxiety pills from my doctor. When I am suffering at my worst I seriously just stay away from people as much as I can. Take lots of hot baths to soothe my cramping and lay around on my heating pad. I literally can't leave my home for about 4-5 days. With the help of my physician I do not suffer as terribly as I once did. I did go to GNC and buy some herbal remedies that were supposed to help out. Honestly I can't say for sure if they did. I really could not tell for sure. I heard that an herb called skullcap was supposed to be great for PMS...but we both know PMDD makes PMS look like a walk in the park. Ask your OB-GYN or your family doctor for some hardcore pain pills to get you through that time. So he or she will not just think that you are seeking pills tell them to prescribe just enough to get you through a few days. Like maybe 12 or 15 pills. I wish I had more advice to offer, but I hope this has helped a tad....OH...I also FORCE(and I do mean FORCE) myself to do light workouts during this time. Woring out helps release feel good endorphines naturally. I really do feel better for a little while after I work out or take a walk. Good Luck!!!!
