What is the difference between all natural and organic?
I was at whole foods the other day and i saw the same product, one said "all natural" the other said "organic" but the ingredients were exactly the same. Whats the difference?
Organic is regulated by the USDA and all certified organic farms have to not used prohibited inputs such as GMO's, synthetic pesticides (organic farms are allowed to use natural plant based insecticides and fungicides) Sewage sludge, treated seed, synthetic fertilizers, etc. every farm is inspected annually and farmer must have excellent farm record so there is a paper trail for each crop.
Natural is an unregulated term that can mean anything

are you sure the products were exactly the same? if it says organic on the box the ingredients will say in the ingredient list organic______. In ordser for a product to be able to legally use the term organic they must follow the USDA regulations. but if you found an "organic" product that does not have organic ingredients than you should report this to your State department of agriculture because this means Whole Foods or the company that made the organic and natural foods that you inspected are breaking the law and need to be stopped so that organics does not get watered down and made to be meaningless by companies doing this sort of thing.
